Saturday, November 3rd, WALKOUT FOR LOVE AND THE VOTE

Come to a Get Out the Vote Shabbat Walkout and Stand in Solidarity for Love with Pittsburgh on Solano Avenue in North Berkeley

We’ll start with a short service at noon at the home of Reb Tsvi, on Tacoma, then at 2 pm, walk out to the corner of Solano Avenue and Tacoma.
We’ll sing protest songs, talk about voting and about standing for love, fill ourselves (and others) with light, walk up Solano Avenue with “Vote” and “Love” signs and songs, and go off to work for the vote.

We are taught by Hillel, "Al tifros min hatzibur, Do not separate yourself from the community" (Pirke Avot 2:5). Rather, we must actively be engaged in affairs of the community and its government. Most basic is to speak our voice through the vote.
We are taught not to be discouraged or feel that our vote doesn’t matter, and are emboldened by the teaching in Pirke Avot: “You do not need to finish the work, but you are not free to desist from it” (M. Avot 2:16).

For location of service call Reb Tsvi, 415-806-2363

Please Bring a bag lunch! And please invite your friends. We invite everyone, Jewish or not, to join us.
